  • (NO SPECIFIC DATE):    At some time during this year a genuine uprising of slaves erupts in New York city in the British colony of New York; it results in the deaths of 9 whites and the hanging of 12 slaves, and the burning alive of 4 other slaves-one over a slow fire.
